Over the last year, the CCMPA executive has consulted closely with The Athena Group working toward our renewed, industry- wide Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The new version includes both GU and GUL cement, as well as data supporting carbon sequestration in dry-cast block. Additional exciting news is that this EPD was supported by the National Research Council of Canada, and sets a precedent on industry baseline submissions on Canada’s path to Carbon Neutral 2030 for concrete products.
We would like to thank our membership who were diligent in providing the supporting data, and also thank the Athena Group for their support and facilitation in this endeavor.
Lastly, we would like to thank the NRC for their support in coaching Canada towards a carbon neutral future.

Au cours de la dernière année, l’exécutif de la CCMPA a travaillé étroitement avec le groupe Athena en vue de renouveler notre déclaration environnementale du produit (DEP) à l’échelle de l’industrie. La nouvelle version comprend à la fois le ciment GU (Ciment Portland) et GUL (Ciment Portland au Calcaire), ainsi que des données soutenant la séquestration du carbone dans le bloc coulé à sec. Une autre nouvelle intéressante est que cette DEP (Déclaration environnementale du produit) a été soutenue par le Conseil national de recherches du Canada (CNRC) et établit un précédent pour les soumissions de référence de l’industrie sur le chemin du Canada vers la neutralité carbone 2030 pour les produits en béton.
Nous tenons à remercier nos membres qui ont fait preuve de diligence en fournissant les données à l’appui, ainsi que le groupe Athena pour son soutien et sa facilitation dans cette démarche.
